The faculty of anatomy was founded in 1945. In 1945-1959 the faculty was led by Hakob Hakobyan.
In 1959-1970 the position was held by docent Izabella Shakaryan, in 1970-1982 PhD of medicine, docent Hripsime Avagyan, later in 1982-2016 the position was held by PhD of biology, professor Henzel Pashikyan.
In 2004 a profession «Adaptive physical culture» was established adjacent to the faculty of kyneziology and the faculty was renamed to Kyneziology and adaptive physical culture. The faculty was led by PhD of medicine, professor S. Grigoryan.
In 2008 «Adaptive physical culture» profession was separated and faculty of Adaptive physical culture was founded. The head of the faculty was appointed PhD of pedagogy, docent Susanna Hoveyan, who supported the new personnel for the faculty.
The faculty cooperates with 139 inclusive, 23 special schools, 75 public organizations, 3 general and 3 specialized orphanages, Armenian National federation of disabled people. The scientific research basis of the faculty are: RA Health Ministry Oshakan Children's Rehabilitation Center and medical center after «Armenak and Anna Tadevosyanner» of Kosh community in Aragatsot region, «Republican Children's Rehabilitation Center» of Yerevan and specialized orphanage in Kharberd.
In 2016 Adaptive physical culture faculty joined to Anatomy and Biomechanics faculty and was renamed to Adaptive physical culture and anatomy, which was as well led by PhD of pedagogy, professor Susanna Hoveyan.
In present the faculty carries out scientific research works in schools with inclusive education.
