Training pedagogical

The department of wrestling, weightlifting and boxing was set up in 1945. It has been called department of wrestling since 1975.

The first head of the department was the USSR champion, the USSR merit master of sport, the USSR merit coach, founder of free style wrestling in Armenia Artashes Nazaryan. Later the heads of the department were the USSR merit coach Artashes Karapetyan, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Georgi Tumanyan, merit worker of physical culture and sport of Armenia, the USSR master of sport, merit coach of Armenia Hrachik Gasparyan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Karlen Atoyan, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Vahram Arakelyan.

The USSR merit coach Bakur Hasratyan,the USSR merit coach, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, associate professor Shahen Janyan, associate professor Eduard A. Karapetyan, merit coach of Armenia, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Davit Khitaryan and others have played a great role and made significant contribution in the formation and in the scientific and pedagogical activity of the department.

  • 1991-1999 - Member of RA free wrestling National team, RA double champion, RA prizewinner, the winner of S. Sargsyan cup
  • 2001-2015 - he has trained many champions of RA, prize winners of Europe, a participant of Olympic Games
