In 2003 «Sport rehabilitation» faculty was created on the basis of «Pedagogical» faculty, the dean of which was appointed A. Harutyunyan.
In 2016 Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture was renamed to Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport becoming foundation. There took place also constructive changes. «Sport rehabilitation» faculty was renamed to Faculty of «Physical education and health technologies».
The faculty now is led by PhD of pedagogy, associate professor Edgar Galtagazyan.
The faculty together with specialization of physical culture teacher prepares kinesiologists and specialists of adaptive physical culture.
During 2017-2018 academic year 571 students are studying in the faculty, from which
- Free of charge - 94students, including 3 foreign students
- On a paid basis - 477 including 8 foreign students
